What I Learned From The Rich Guy I Met At The Christmas Party

“Rich Guy Offers Up Tips On How He Came To Reach His Incredible Success!”

Rich Guy Spills His Success Secrets At Party

Karen and I recently went to an amazing Christmas party with some friends this past weekend and we got seated next to a super wealthy guy, I won’t say what he does exactly because that is irrelevant to my point.

He owns 3 or 4 businesses, but the main thing you need to know is that he is incredibly wealthy and has had exceptional success that is worth investigating!

As luck would have it, we were seated right next to him at the dinner table, which is quite interesting in itself…

Anyways, he was talking to us and had some really interesting things to say.  Anytime Karen and I meet someone new we try to learn and take away anything we can from that contact, truthfully it doesn’t matter if the person is successful/rich or if they are broke.  Everyone offers up something you can learn from them if you are looking for it.

But that night, we had the pleasure of talking to this absolutely rich guy!  So let’s get down to what we actually learned from him and the tips he offered up as reasons for his successes.

  1. The first thing he said was that you have to get lucky in business.

Honestly, when I heard that I wasn’t sure what to make of it.  In the last few weeks I’ve actually had a few different people say the same thing to me; you have to get lucky!

I just thought that was so interesting because I’m never really that much of a believer in luck. I am more of someone that has faith that something is going to happen, that God will put me in the right place at the right time maybe. Also that I am going to work my butt off to make things happen.

So when I hear someone say that you have to get lucky, that really throws me off and I’m not even sure what to think about it.

But even though I don’t know if I agree with him, like I said I’ve heard it from a couple of people that are very successful in the last few weeks.  So it does warrant consideration.

Do you think you have to get lucky to become wealthy and successful? Or do you think that you make your own luck? What’s your thoughts on luck and success?

But There’s More He Said Contributed To His Wealth

There was another thing that this wealthy guy said that night.  And I actually thought this tip was much better and just as interesting. Here is what he said.

2. He said he that he wants no control over his business. He doesn’t want to hear about anything. He wants to give all the responsibilities away to other people and he wants as little control as possible. In fact he does not even want to know what’s going on unless he has to. Unless there is a problem that he is required to be there for.

In other words he is trying to make his business as passive as possible, which I can totally relate to and this concept is probably the biggest reason for my successes to this point in business.

I really think that outsourcing and giving up control in your business is one of the most important concepts to grasp as a business owner if you are looking to have growth.  However, it can also be the most difficult thing to embrace.

If you are not progressively making your business passive then you are always going to have to be there and your time is going to have to be traded to earn a living.

Many people fall into the trap of saying “I like to work and don’t mind doing it all.”  But in my opinion, if you are such an intricate part of your business that can’t miss 2-4 weeks without the business coming to an abrupt halt, then you actually can be setting your business up for problems in the future beyond the luxury of passive income.

For starters what happens if you get sick and can’t work for few weeks or months?  Or what if you would just like to go on a vacation?

Another thing to consider as well is that making yourself too important to your business can cause you to be so busy that you either don’t see other opportunities to grow your business as they come along, or you are too busy to take advantage of them and you have to miss the opportunity all together.

You are not going to able to take advantage of all these opportunities if you are always the one to do all the work. Giving up control is something I can definitely relate to. But I thought it was interesting that he said he wants to give up all control. He wants no control and in fact he doesn’t even want to know what’s going on unless he is the one that is needed. That actually opened my eyes and made me think of how I could make my own business more efficient.

My Final Thought’s On The Rich Guy’s Business Tips

I don’t think I will ever get to that point where I don’t want to know what’s going on in my business because I think that’s honestly not really intelligent. I think that’s a good way to get yourself burned.

I feel like I definitely want to know what’s going on in my business because I think that’s important.

However I don’t want to be the one who does all the tasks because if I do all the tasks then my business won’t grow and the people working on my business with me won’t grow either because I am too busy just trying to make money instead of focusing on growing my business.

Maybe he was kind of trying to be a little bit out there and kind of get my attention. I’m sure he knows more than he is telling us and was probably just trying to get our attention.

I’d love to hear your feelings on these two different things. We’ll talk to you soon, thanks for reading!
