8 Minute Meditation by Victor Davich

If you are looking for a good place to start with learning how to meditate, 8 Minute Meditation by Victor Davich is a great place to start!  A good friend of ours sent us a copy of this book in the mail as a gift, and it has really been useful to us.

At first, when I thought about meditating I didn’t really know what to think about the idea of it…growing up going to church, I guess I sort of thought if I meditated then I was doing something wrong!  I don’t know why I thought this, but once I went through this book, as well as others similar to it, I started realizing that this was far from the truth.

Meditation is not specific to one religion, it is practiced by nearly all religions, and even by people who are not religious at all.  In fact, meditating can be as religious, or non-religious as you want it to be.  So just tailor it to what works for you! 

The best thing about this book is that it makes a concept such as meditation seem so easy and practical.  It also makes it relatable to someone who lives in the U.S. or the western world.  Many eastern cultures practice meditating their whole lives, and I think it is a great addition to our hectic life in the western part of the world.

Another thing I like about this book is that it is of the view point that any meditation is a successful one.  Meaning as long as you give it a try you are succeeding, this takes off some of the initial pressure that we put on ourselves to be doing everything perfectly from the start.  But with this advice, it suggests that just getting started and committing yourself to the program is all you need to succeed with it.

Get Started Meditating In As Little As 8 Minutes!

Probably the most appealing aspect of this book and learning from it is that you only need 8 minutes to learn how to do it!  I don’t care how buy you are, everyone can find 8 minutes!

Learning this skill will help you in all areas of your life!  I know because it has helped me so much!  Whether you are trying to control being anxious about something, or you are trying to have better control of your state of mind for business or sports.  It really does help!
