How To Believe In Yourself (Belief Systems)
Hey guys it’s Matt with operationawesomelife.com, and I have a very important question for you. Do you believe in yourself? If not, don’t worry, that’s why you’re here. In this video, I’m going to discuss how to believe in yourself more. And how to get yourself to the point where you can control your belief about yourself, your abilities, and what you can accomplish.
Okay, so there’s lots of talk about believing in ourselves, having positive thoughts, and all of those types of things. But I want to make sure that you guys get a good background of belief systems by reading you a few quotes that I found just a few minutes ago.
Believing In The Unseen And Having Faith In Your Dream
Here’s the first, it’s Bob Proctor’s quote, and it says, “To believe in the things that you can see and touch is no belief at all, but to believe in the unseen is both a triumph and a blessing.”
It’s really easy to believe in something you can see. We all know that, but for some reason, we have such a hard time believing in the things that are not in physical form yet.
Bob Proctor loves to talk about the Wright brothers in his “6 Minutes to Success” program. He talks about the Wright brothers, he talks about Edison, and all kinds of people in the past that were extremely successful.
Consider this. The Wright brothers, they couldn’t see an airplane and how it would work, and they couldn’t actually physically see the airplane flying in the air, but somehow, they had the belief in their mind that they knew that they could make it happen.
The Wright Brothers faced many people that didn’t believe in their dream the way they did. And when no one else would believe them, they still had to keep the belief. I remember hearing that their father said that he was very disappointed in them that they wanted to try to fly an airplane. And yet they still stuck with their belief. And because of that, we can all get on a jet and we can travel around the world within hours now. Aren’t we all very grateful for their belief system?
A Belief System Is A Thought That Is Repeated
The second quote I want to talk to you guys about is from Wayne Dyer. “A belief system is nothing more than a thought you’ve thought over and over again.” Thinking really does determine our results and our beliefs are based on our thoughts.
If you’re constantly thinking negative thoughts, and you have a lot of self doubt, then you’re not going to be thinking thoughts that are going to get you what you want in your life.
It’s extremely important to take your thoughts seriously! And do everything you possibly can to change your thoughts for the better.
With Empowering Belief Systems You Will Succeed
The third quote is by Tony Robbins. Tony talks tons about belief systems, really great stuff. Here it is. “If people maintain the belief systems that empower them, they’ll keep coming back with enough action and enough resourcefulness to succeed eventually.”
That just shows you it doesn’t matter how many times you fail. You could fail over and over again, but what he just said in that quote is this. As long as you have the proper beliefs in your head, you can fail over and over and over again, but if you’re still believing in yourself, you’re going to continue to find the resources and everything else that is needed to bring success into your life.
The thoughts are even more important than the vehicle. If you have the thoughts correct, and if you believe in yourself without a doubt you will succeed.
New opportunities will come and go, but without the thoughts, you’re never going to find the success that you truly want. That’s why it’s super important that we get control over our thinking first. And then all the success can come into our life.
It doesn’t mean it’ll happen right away, but it does mean that we’re cultivating the soil, so to speak, in a way that we can plant the seed for success in good soil. Instead of trying to plant the seed of success in really bad soil. We’re making the soil ready in our mind so that we can plant success and it can blossom.
How To Believe In Yourself And Change Your Thoughts
As Wayne Dyer said. “A belief system is nothing more than a thought you’ve thought over and over again.” so how do we change our thinking around?
The best thing that I have found to do is to continually absorb positive information, positive thinking, and positive coaching and direction.
Bob Proctor’s 6 Minute To Success Program
One of the ways that I really like to get a flood of positive information is with Bob Proctor’s “6 Minutes to Success” program.
Every morning he has a little video. He talks for 6 minutes about your thoughts and your belief systems. He bases a lot of his teachings arounds Napoleon Hill and his book, “Think and Grow Rich.”
To hear Bob every morning is very positive and motivating. And it really helps me to kick my day off in the right way.
Become An Avid Reader And Leave Nothing To Chance
Another thing that I do is read a lot. I’m an avid reader. I’m always reading books that will help me to get into the ways of thinking that I want to. I don’t leave it up for chance. And I don’t just hope that I’m going to think good thoughts. I demand that I’m going to think good thoughts. I constantly put that demand on myself and I won’t allow myself to be negative.
Sure, I get negative for maybe a few hours every once in a while. But I don’t allow myself to stay in that type of funk very long. I continually put the things into my brain that will give me good thoughts.
Journaling, Goals, And Positivity Rants
Yet another thing I do is write down all my goals in my journal every day. I cross off my goals when I complete them, which gives me a lot of motivation. It also reinforces in my mind that I do what I say I’m going to do. That is tremendously powerful for me.
I also write down any positive quotes I get from “6 Minutes to Success,” from books I read. Or from anything else. Even if I hear it from someone on the radio, if I here it Joel Osteen, I’ll write that down, too. It doesn’t matter where the information comes from. If it’s a good thought, a good quote, I’ll write it down. It all helps me to constantly put more positive thinking into my mind.
Also in my journal, I write down my affirmations everyday. Sometimes I’ll do a positivity rant in my journal where I’ll just write randomly for 2 or 3 minutes. I just fill up a couple of pages of positive thinking. It won’t even make a lot of sense, but I will cram as much positive thoughts into my mind as possible. And that can be very helpful.
You Can Change Your Belief Systems To Empower You

You truly can change your belief systems no matter what. And you can create the belief systems that will empower you, not destroy you.
